FiestaTurbo.com INSURANCE with CHRIS KNOTT :: 0800 917 2274

Postby ChrisKnottIns on Mon Aug 04, 2008 11:11 am

Hi to all!

This forum have been in discussion with ourselves about an insurance scheme for registered users on here. We are glad to say that we have signed the deal so I'd just like to introduce myself & our company!

Chris Knott Insurance - http://www.chrisknott.co.uk - have been involved with car clubs for over 20 years so hopefully we'll understand your needs & requirements!

The scheme is for both standard and modified cars with cosmetic changes and bhp increases by no more than 50bhp.

It starts for ages 22 and over for Comprehensive cover and 19+ for TPFT cover, and you must have at least 1 year's NCB – no introductory discounts are allowed.

All drivers must have held a full UK licence for at least 1 year, and to insure a 'performance' car, there must be at least 1 years experience of driving that, or similar bhp, car. Unfortunately, the scheme is not competitive on all M - Manchester, L - Liverpool, OL - Oldham & SK1-12 - Stockport postcodes, and excludes Northern Ireland.

No more than 1 SP/PC/PL conviction offence per driver.

The minimum premiums are £250 for Comprehensive & £200 for TPFT cover, so please don’t ring if your quote is less than this!

We consistently have a very high renewal retention rate meaning that people renew with us because of our constantly competitive insurance premiums & experienced, reliable customer and claims service. That is why we can promote this insurance scheme knowing that we are in it for the long term.

I'll view the site regularly and try to answer any queries that you have also.

In the meantime, please feel free to call the New Business Team when you receive your renewal through. A dedicated team, with years of experience, is waiting for your call! (I personally don't do the quotes).

0800 917 2274 or 01424 200477 (if phoning by mobile) & please don't forget to quote the reference found in my signature below and the club name!

No troubles here anymore for them to used as an excuse!!! SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!! I DESPAIR!!!! :)

discounts for partners to be insured too
2 car 1 policy
sound system covered
peronal belongings in the car, phones, shopping stuff etc (i.e christmas)
locks, i.e lose ya keys or something
track cover

thats about all i can think of at the mo

Hi
It's solely to do with the fact that the insurers have an agreement that UK brokers can't quote for Northern Ireland & NI brokers can't quote for the UK mainland.
Nothing more sinister just giving evryone a 'level playing field'.

every insurance quote is personalised by location (postcode) job and other lifestyle choices thats why they ask so many questions on the internet or phone when getting a quote!

Is an engineer's report required for engine conversions?

Something I like about my current policy (Highway via HIC) is the simplicity of everything :)

Driving other cars, but not within the motor trade - would that include working for a factors? I.e., I'm not working on or with cars.

Hi
No engineers report is required.
Glad to hear about Highway's policy as they are one of our main scheme providers.

If you work in a manufacturing factory, that is fine for Driving Other Cars.

OK cool. May well be in touch... I've just had my renewal come through and it's pretty good, but if it can be beaten, it would be nice!

Incidentally though, I do have track cover through Highway - Is this a broker-specific thing, as I see you say above that you do not provide it?

Yes, it's a broker-specific thing. Our schemes are geared towards competitive premiums but, although we cover most things, track day is not one of them.

just wondering, you said one of the insurers is highway, which is who im with but ive noticed adrian flux doesnt offer some things that HIC does, even though they both quote from highway.

anyway the question is , do they offer a 2 car 1 policy, or as HIC does, insure a second car on a new insurance and they will mirror your NCB on the second car so you save money on the insurance?

the catch was though, if its mirrored, no matter what car you were in if you had a fault accident and lost some or all the NCB it comes off both cars

reason im asking as i may need/want to put the xr2 back on the road the same time as having my rs on the road

Firstly, different brokers have different schemes with the same insurer! That's why we are so confident in our scheme because it often produces excellent results.

We can also offer you the mirrored NCB but if you had a claim, only 1 NCB will be affected!

Hope this helps!
