Do you work on just classics, or is it varied? I'm not a huge E type fan, but it's looking good! :-)

Cheers !
Im hoping to show it next year so the suspension etc will be visible when on axle stands with the wheels off
Its mainly the newer stuff I work on but if something interesting comes in I'll take it on !

I ve had new brake lines made up and etch primed and painted them to factory colour.
Bought some st150 front calipers and discs. Stripped the calipers down, had them powder coated and built them back up with new service kit (seals, rubbers etc).
Also converted the rear brakes to discs, just need to fit the calipers.
Fitted the fuel tank, just waiting for a few more under body clips and the car will be ready to come off the jig !

Finished building rear calipers today and fitted them alongside new pagid discs and pads. I just need to fit the handbrake cable now and hopefully I can get it on the ground next week ready to start the bodywork.
Also my new stage 3 T3 turbo turned up !
Here's some pics of brakes before and after.

Car is on the ground now and bodywork is well on the way. The so called engine builder has turned round after having my engine for 2 years and said 'I haven't got time to build it can't you just take it to puma build ?' :o .So I've collected all parts and dropped them down to a more professional outfit that have experience in building a zvh.

Here's a few pics of the engine build, hoping to get it back in the next week or so. As you can see from the pics, the block has been drilled/modified for the zvh conversion. Oh, and could anyone advise me on the next upgrade from beiges with ofab?
Cheers :)

Got my engine back which is good, but found out the stage 3 port and polished head I bought for it is mfi !
Spoke to Jano at oddkidd today (very helpful ) and I've ordered an adaptor plate to solve the problem.
I assumed that both the escort and the fiesta turbo engines were the same ? How wrong was I :-?

So after many many man hours over the last few months attending to every scratch, dent, chip, rust and any other imperfection I finally got my shell into a condition I was happy with to prime.
Any minor rust was treated with red oxide before the shell had x3 coats of lechler's TI high build primer applied.
The plan next is to get the rest of the panels to the same stage and then it's just a case of prepping and painting everything together.
Hoping to be on the road next summer.
Hoping......... :D

Started to build up the engine but ran into a problem with the exhaust manifold catching the breather blocking plate/bolts which prevented the manifold from sitting flush to the head.
Solved the problem by grinding a tad off both the manifold and the blocking plate and fitted countersunk allen bolts :D
Painted the manifold black with high temp paint to freshen it up.
Also fitted the adaptor plate for the inlet manifold.
Plan now is to get the inside of the car prepped and painted then fit the wiring loom ready for the engine to go in.

Hi, Where did you get the hard sound proofing that you painted over? Currently removing all the original from mine now and will need to replace... Plan to paint inside similar to yours. :)

Hi,
Most paint suppliers will sell sound deadning pads that you can buy over the counter.
Google body shop suppliers / automotive paint suppliers in your local area.
Good luck and thanks for the comments :aviator:

Soooo making progress on this now and have booked a few weekends aside to work on it.
Bonnet was prepared today to have flush aero catches fitted. I had a right game getting the door hinge pins out when stripping the shell which resorted in 3 of them coming out in 3 pieces and only one decent one remaining ! As these are no longer available I used this one to have 4 new ones made up at an engineering company thanks to my father in law !
Body kit and bumpers have been painted, applying x3 coats of base followed by x4 coats of lacquer leaving 15 min flash off in between then leaving to air dry to reduce any sinkage. Recommended is x2 coats but as I plan to flat and mop the whole car I wanted to make sure I had something to work with :D
Rest of the car will be painted next week, cannot wait :aviator:

Thanks for the comments :D
So now the car was in primer it was a case of prepping it ready for paint. No air or electrical sanders were used in the prep, every panel was wet sanded on a block by hand :)

Again, x3 coats of base coat followed by x4 coats of lacquer no thinners

Fitted the doors which lined up nicely.

In the process of stripping bits for the zinc platers before fitting them back to the car.

Looks lush mate!! Love Diamond white, my first Fiesta was a 1.1 pop plus Si replica in Diamond white.

Do you have any photos of the underside of the bonnet where the aerocatches are going to be fitted?

Cheers
