Re: fiesta mk3 st150 build
Hi guys this is lees brother Darren lees pretty useless when it comes to the build thread side of it so here it goes
this was the car as an xr2i
so now starts the project we decided to go for a new engine so we went with a duratec from the st150 so of it went to the work shop
so we got new engine in place where it needed to go and started to make the engine mounts
started to tidy it up abit
so got the engine in a decided i wanted to do a role cage so next was this
we decided that we were gonna go all out with the track theme so bought an alloy fuel tank for the boot as would of had to modify the old tank
i had to have a return fitted to the fuel rail so i sent them of to be welded and to have some tabs welded to the tank as no one was feeling ali welding lol
brakes were next on the list while at work shop so i got some front brakes of a mondeo st 278mm
and on the back escort rs2000 270mm
they are perfect for the 15s im running
weve gone with a new pedal box because weve got to run hydraulic clutch and weve also binned off the brake servo and its gonna be straight off the master cylinders on the pedal box
unfortunatly things went wrong with the boss and we went separate ways and the car came back to the house but that hasnt stopped me if anything i get more done cause ive got more time at the house to work on it so i started on interior
then i decided to do role cage red
starting sorting out gauges and dash
then bought quick release for steering wheel best 70 quid spent ever
]
then i bought poly windows dont have any pics of these atm and i decided i wanted my filler neck in my rear quarter
window like u do so i had to have a custiom filler neck machined and then buy some pipe work and filler cap lol it got expensive
bought new wheel too
then decided to fit aero catches and some vinyl
we decided to have a go with carbon wrap i love it now but we done the roof
next we went back to the engine now whilst i was away i was at the pub and notice so jenvey throttle bodies and well let say the beer won and these apeared
and so came loads more engine bits
next step was engine had to come back out as wanted to put and organic clutch in and sump baffles and also a massive head acke was trying to get write size belt as we removed air con and power steering from the engine
realised id have to move my plate because of oil cooler but ppl wanted like 50quid for a plate i was like f that ill make my own so i did
ive recently just bout some compo mo5 and a zetec s rear bumper and few lil bits which i will update some when back from body shop
