45mm, dont look huge in the flesh tbh.
If you think that seat is dirty Shaun you should see the drivers one. That he has pooed himself on twice.

Re: 1.8 zetec Bonus Dirtbox Sleeper - ITB's 5/3
45mm...but earlier you wanted to sacrifice top end for low down torque?
Assuming a well tuned exhaust and inlet, 45mm will support approx 65bhp per cylinder on an N/A engine. You will loose a lot of low to mid range response with something so large on your engine.

I will be interested to see how it performs as its a option for mine. I remarked that they looked small when I saw them lol

lol. The Pulsar inlet would be a better option for your spec mate. Mine was £35 from eBay.

They do look big, what are they off?
Maybe using a 105 cam coupled with these will give a balanced torque curve

Sounds good mark. Will see how easy they fit, the linkage on these are brilliant and allow you to space them closer or further apart by approx 7mm in total.
Jony these came off a car, I will keep my eyes out for some piper fast road cams
Smo and dave I love you both

Marky Mark and Funky bunch - sounds cheeky, I am intrigued by them, but also by this.

Re: 1.8 zetec Bonus Dirtbox Sleeper - ITB's 5/3
Small pictureless update
I've ordered a new flange for the itb's to get the spacing right, the original was too narrow. The bodies themselves are actually 42mm too!
I also picked up a complete 2.0 silvertop for £90, the head is to be sold on and my existing 1.8 head overhauled, new stem seals etc and fitted onto the new bottom end. Im going to start the stripdown of both engines tomorrow. I'm also looking at making a new engine loom to suit the new layout and braid it to look nice.
Also in the interest of keeping the engine build as pikey and cheep as possible I'm going to reuse my old timing belt, pullys and waterpump

1.8 head is higher compression on a 2.0 engine, the combustion chamber is 5cc smaller

It's not ideal because the bore size is larger.

Re: 1.8 zetec Bonus Dirtbox Sleeper - ITB's 5/3
Small update.
I had purchased a 2.0 zetec but days later an ST170 engine came available for a price i couldn't refuse so i'm going to slap this in instead.

Im going to fit the standard st170 side engine mount as i've destroyed two standard zetec mounts. The engine should move less given that its supported on the side, rather than the back of the engine.
I'm still keeping the itb's, i've had a new flange made spacing the ports a bit further apart making them an even better fit. I've got a new megasquirt loom coming which will be braided and terminated in a couple of weeks, and a few changes need making internally so I can have some control of the vvt.
More pictures to come!

Superb mate. If there is room in the budget, get a set of decent cams in there. You'll hit a brick wall with the standard cams.

Those are some expensive cams! I had briefly looked at the newman cams but would still be looking at £350.
And thanks for your help so far Jimmy & Mark!
Im also going to fit power steering, it could do with being a bit lighter, and when strapped in with the harnesses manoeuvring the car can be difficult
