FAQ? Mk4/5 Fiesta Bits onto Mk3.. Ariel, Mirrors, Wipers etc

Right ive got a set of 3.5 mirrors and had them colour coded, whats the best way to cut the door bit out? of got a jig saw and blades for metal...will that do the job?

I personally find hacksaw's useless for anything if its not a flat surface!

Got a dremmel? I prefer them as they are smaller and you can use a disk then a grinder thing to remove little bits!

I haven't got one, but someone at work has, I was planning on borrowing it anyway to buff up some of my engine bits.

I agree with Max, dremmel the metal out.

Don't forget to paint the edges to prevent rust setting in!

Nope theres no seal AFAIR :-? Maybe a small rubber one but nothing i paid extra for!

yeah theirs just a gap on the sid where the bolts go in it doesnt sit flush to the car or slam panels i think their called

Max is right - they seem to have more in common with Escort Mk5 doorcards than the Fiesta.

No way they'd fit properly.

i realsied this last night after looking at some pics of some. They do appear to be the wrong shape and the speaker grills are in the wrong place aswell as they are at the top of the door.

haha i have pretty much an entire mk5 to play with to fit things onto a mk 3 if there is anything else that can be fitted?

[edit] i just read over on fiestaguides.com and according to them i have a mk3.5. hmm i always assumed it was a mk3, how can i tell the difference?

if its got a petrol filler cap, clear indicators its a 3.5, if it has'nt its a 3 :)

Have just fitted a ka wiper on the rear, but it wont sit flush to the window, obviously i know the ka's rear window is more rounded than the fez's but has any1 any ideas of how i could make it any better....?
Or have i just put it on a wonk?!! :lol:

It wont fit, if you are talking about the end closest to the bolt.
