Postby simon turbo on Tue Nov 22, 2011 3:07 pm

has any one fitted a cossy k&n filter cone to a t2 turbo???
i have just brought one and i have a old boost pipe to cut up hoping to get it in with some mods.
just an idea to get more air in and more noise.
is it a good idea or will it f**k my turbo some how?

Unless you can put it out of the way in the corner or something. I wouldn't bother as the larger size filter will draw more warm air in from the engine bay it won't damage your turbo or nothing . I say if you got a t2 keep the original air box with a good panel in it and your better off only downside is that you get less chatttttttttteeeeerrrrrrrr

Open cone filters on the t2 kill performance and decrease economy.

What do you mean on what basis? On the basis that I bought a cone filter so I could hear the chatter. Followed by me realising the car idled higher, ran hotter, performed worse and used more fuel than when I had the standard airbox, cold feed and ITG panel filter on it.
