Got this off a web site for you
The Crosman 1008 RepeatAir pistol
By Etienne Savard
This airgun is patterned after the Smith & Wesson .45-caliber semi-auto pistol. The frame, grips, trigger guard and most of the external parts are made of plastic, except the hammer. The 1008 comes in two configurations : silver finish with black grips or black finish with wood-like grips. In both cases, the features are exactly the same:
Fully adjustable rear sight, fixed front sight
Single/double action mode
8-shot cylinder
Fires up to 8 shots in less than 2 seconds
Cross-bolt safety
Weight of 1 lb
8,5-inch length
Rifled steel barrel
Velocities up to 435 fps
You can also put electronic sights on the top of the pistol. You can also mount a special laser sight that fits under the barrel, attached to the trigger guard. The plastic finish is very beautiful, but after a couple of months of extensive use of the pistol, the grey colour on the grip begins to disappear.
The Repeat Air is a semi-auto pistol with a capacity of eight pellets. Like the Crosman 357 (old model), the 1008 is "pellet only". One of the great features is than you can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger without jamming the gun (in my best moments, I can shoot up to 2 shots per second, but it's the best I can do. I'm sure than a good shooter can shoot up to 5 shots/second with this gun (it's 300 shots/minute, half that of an AK-47 assault rifle !).
They are other versions of the 1008 : the C40 and CB40. Both are exactly the same than the Repeat Air except the zinc-alloy frame and a more realistic looking and sensation (due to the metal frame, the gun weights more than two pounds). Recently, Crosman introduced a .22-caliber (5,5 mm) version of the 1008 : it's about twice the power of the .177 but the cylinder accepts only 7 shots. This new gun has also a kind of "compensator" and optic front sight.
You have also the choice to buy the gun separately or in a kit (including plastic case, targets, oil, etc.). The kit is a few dollars more expensive than the pistol only but it's worth the price. With the kit comes 3 extra cylinders : the pistol only comes with 2 cylinders.
I've fired more than 5000 shots with my 1008, but the gun never jams. Every time I pull the trigger, I'm sure than the gun will shoot. It's one of the best pistols I have. It's very easy to master the pistol : after a couple of months, you will consider it like a third hand. After a "break-in" period, the trigger in double action mode is very smooth, but the single action mode is pretty light (less than 2 pounds).
This pistol is really a must: if you have the chance to have one, buy it immediately, without hesitation.
