Buying exhaust + K&N air filter need help.

Postby Tommm.Mk3 on Mon Oct 31, 2011 7:12 pm

Hi im new to this site :) iv just passed my test last month and got a Mk3 1.1azura fiesta.

So far i have put rs turbo/xr2i alloys on it but im looking to put a new exhaust as the stock one looks crap and new lights.

Iv ordered some new lights (halo front Lexus back) because i got them cheap :)

And im about to buy a exhaust im wondering if anyone has this exhaust or a similar one?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160673050320? ... 1423.l2649

if so does it sound nice? and look nice on the car?

Also my mate has a K&N air filter for my car new and boxed but i dont want to buy it if i wont get anything out of it.

Will it make the car sound better and add performance?

Thanks to anyone who can help :)

And anymore tips to do to my car to make it look better cheap i would really appreciate :)

hi mate

that exhaust dont seem bad, that company is just down the road to me. ive never used them though

they say it adds a few bhp but dont expect miracles from it on a 1.1

i got a custom straight through exhaust system on mine which sounds just right to me as its not stupidly loud. you can only go by what theyre saying regarding the sound of it.

as for the induction kit, i havent got one on mine, but ive heard they do the trick.

my advice in regards to modification is... think about what your doing before you jump into it. i did alot of things to my mk3 when i first got it that i regret and i ended up taking all the silly bits off. i think the best thing is to have it looking smart, not over the top, tastefull mods. you might find yourself getting carried away when you start though. i know i did

best bet is to have a look in the gallery section for ideas :D

cheers
brad

Thanks for the reply mate :)

i went and bought the exhaust, i don't expect much in performance form it i just want a better looking exhaust as the standerd looks terrible, i also want a nice noise to it :)

I bought the same alloys as in your picture :) i love them :)

and i have bought some lexus rear lights as one of mine is cracked and they where cheap :)

im not bothering with that induction kit as it needs tubes exstending and stuff so im going to do this when i get the time

i dont think im gonna do much more to the car atm maybe change the interior for the si or rs turbo (nearly manged to get rs turbo seats from scrapyard but they had oil over them from where it been there for a while :( )

the exhaust looks smart :D

i think it was a good move with the k&n because ive heard of a thing called carb freeze, you'll notice your current airbox has the long spout with another pipe coming from the exhaust manifold. that is to feed warm air into the carb, with the k&n you dont get that pipe so you would be getting pure cold air all the time. you can run a hose from the manifold into the k&n however.

what i done on mine was, in that airbox spout, near the hole at the end, is a flap. i opened the flap right up in mine to allow more air in. its not fantastic but ive found it makes the car run better.

i never used to like the turbo 3 spoke alloys but theyve grown on me now.

have a gander through my project thread to see what ive done

and stick some photos of yours up in the gallery section :D
