Another zetec in a mk3!!

Postby retro_jack on Tue Nov 03, 2015 2:47 am

Hi All,

I've got myself a mk3 fiesta 1.1 hcs and I've also got a mk5b escort cab 1.8 (130) and I want to do a transplant from the escort to the fiesta! :Q

I just need some help and advise on how to go about it and what extra parts am I still going to need?! :o

Thanks in advance!!

Jack.

Have a look in the guides section as this has been covered many times over.

Due to the donor being an Escort, you'll need to purchase a lot of parts separately from a zetec derived Mk3 as you need engine mounts, wiring loom, exhaust system, ECU and the list goes on.

For the costs involved and readiness of parts I would suggest you just bought a Mk3 with a Zetec engine in it already.

Cheers for the reply!!

can I not just use the ECU and loom from the escort?

I would of bought a zetec fiesta but they are just too hard to come by round my way, not cheap enough anyway  and I got the escort for cheap, dirt cheap

the engine from the escort is pretty low miles and the 130ps version too so I would still really like to use it. cant I modify the loom and just cut out what I don't need? I'm probably going to swap the clocks to make it easier too!

Cheers again :)
