Aftermarket pedal box/brake master cylinder

Postby cookie456_the2nd on Mon Jul 16, 2012 9:16 pm

I'm after some good advice from the people that have done it, mainly gonna be people with track cars etc...

My 2.3 duratec turbo...

With space being a MAJOR problem in my engine bay im looking to ditch the standard pedal box/brake linkage/servo for some thing else. I just cant deal with the turbo hitting the brake linkage bar any more!

What routes have people gone down? What worked well? What didnt work? Ive looked at various pedal boxes but dont know where to start, of course it needs to be a pedal box where the master cylinders stay inside the firewall. Will i want remote reservoir? Floor mount or firewall mount? What happens with the servo?

By the way this car gets used on road, a little bit, is this a good idea...

Much appreciated.

the best way for you to go is a tilton 2 pedal (clutch/brake) setup.. this would be in the normal pedal configuration(not floor mounted)..

i know its a american ebay link but the only one i could find.. luca (the trolley) has recently fitted the ones your after...a lot less hassle than a floor mounted setup. the do work well without a servo but you do have to put more effort into braking to get the car to stop...this IS the route you need to take!...dont waist your time and money doing anything else...and you will need a remote fluid res...

Late to the party, but something like this is always an option.
Nothing to see here...
