hi there. im struggling to get fith gear on my fiesta . its an ib5 gearbox. i have just replaced the clutch . i have tried and tried adjusting the gear linkage . i have all gears but cannot get fifth. but if i go under the car when fith is on gear selector in car i can slacken off the gear linkage and pull the selector arm out of the box and you can hear it engage fith .

but when i use the gear selector in the car it does not pull it out of the box far enough to engage fifth gear.

i hope anybody can understand what i mean . cheers

sounds like linkage adjustemtn problem to me mate.

normal SP is put the box in forth then put the selector on it, i norm get someone to hold it back in 4th to take up the slack then tighten it there and adjust if needed.

tbh though, you should be able to put it back where it was, as in as far on the shaft as it used to be from the dirt line
