A lot of stuff built up ends up on whatever V5 they have lying about. A mate of mine had a Mk5 Escort Cosworth, (about 91 so before the real ones,) that he built using a new Mk5 shell, 6R4 suspension with a Sierra 4X4 engine & transmission. That was plated with an '81 X-reg Mk3 Escort V5, the only reason it had that was when taking it abroad they had to be registered even if it didnt correspond to the car. It's not like they were ever going to be mot'd.

Real shame, unusual not to see one a Q plate, It's my understanding these were all new shells converted and using mk2 running gear throughout.
Come to think of it, I thought they were V8 too. Looks very rotten!

bonnet hinges have broke off and boot are seized but would fiberglass back on etc
