Gear linkage - rod to cable
On a BC box.
Anyone done it yet?
If not, is it possible and how?

Re: Gear linkage - rod to cable
never seen it, and tbh, i cant see how it would work with a cable, as its single rod that pushes in and twists for gears, i see no way a cable conversion would operate the gear selecting on the BC box

Re: Gear linkage - rod to cable
I thought as much.
Ive recently changed my box, struggling to find that perfect adjustment point on the linkage where I get a smooth gear change, 4th to 3rd in particular.
I was hoping to raise the stick too, to make easier changes in general.

Re: Gear linkage - rod to cable
not saying its not poss, but i cant see how it would be, and how well it would in fact work
making the gear stick longer would make the gear change longer

Re: Gear linkage - rod to cable
That's why I was asking about the cable. I would raise the whole unit, not extend the stick, but shorten it. A mate has done similar with his mk2 golf.

i see.
well anything is poss i guess, only way to be sure if it will work or not is to try it, and then over come (if you can) the problems it throws up
