P Reg Turbo Conversion Update 20/11/12
This is my missus old car, i brought her another car and took it off her, my plans are for a turbo conversion, but try and leave it standard looking as possible, at the moment its a 1.3 with 60k on the clock, doesnt look too bad, only ever had a small bit of welding on the sill last year, unfortlely this will be a slow project due to little funds at the moment, but will do what i can when i can, i will do my best with photos, but at the moment i only have one

Re: P Reg Turbo Conversion
Turbo?, FRST cvh turbo or zetec turbo?
Also being on a P plate will you not have to retain a cat?
Looks like a good base though.
Gareth.

Shouldnt need a cat if you can prove the bits came from an older car, the only problem is hiding the intercooler, not sure yet what to do

i use a escort series 2 rs intercooler along with a stage 1 T3 turbo
saves cutting up the front end for a massive cooler

depending on bhp tho as i thought it would kill it with big power

Re: P Reg Turbo Conversion
Good luck with this mate iv RS turbo'd my m reg mk3.5 and tbh it was a piece of piss, as a tip use the 1.3 shafts, the shafts are the same thickness are RS turbo shafts and mk3.5 joint are stronger if I'm not mistaken, plus iv been using my 1.3 shafts for about a year now sand have given them he'll and they've been fine
re. To the intercooler could a pace uprated standard one sprayed black nor be fine? No mods needed to fit and better than standard as from what I'm aware standard ic have shi inlet temps after 10psi or so

Re: P Reg Turbo Conversion
trying to keep the car looking as standard as possible i will be using steel rims to begin with, i have managaed to get hold of some 14" rims, but there are to width sizes, 5.5" and 6", what do you guys think i should go with, at the moment i have 4 5.5" but 2 really rusty 6", i will be spraying cleaning and painting the wheels silver

Also when i fit a RST rear beam i might fit a cossie rear brake set up which i have, but one question, what handbrake cable do you use on the fiesta, the handbrake cable i have is an Escort RS2000 one, this was going to go on a S1, but didnt fit it in the end

Update 5/10/11
Well got hold of some bits, thanks to fellow members, got a rear axle, ground all the s**t off it and painted it hammerite black, got some powerflex bushes for it

i have also got hold of a mondeo brake servo and master cylinder, another item for my box of bits
at the moment the car is going back on the raod in standard form, as my dear old mum crashed her car and needs some wheels, and i just praying she doesnt crash it

Re: P Reg Turbo Conversion Update 20/4/12
Well i am able to get on with this now as my marriage has broken down, no kids this weekend so got on with the strip down, this is what it was like before i started

then a few hours later i had this,

engine and gearbox removed and removed the power steering rack and column, and also removed the orginal engine bay wiring loom, now got to fit the new FRST engine bay loom in and wire it up, got an engine in bits which needs a rebuild but getting there with the bits i need
