Heater problem MK4

Postby rs220bhp on Mon Dec 28, 2009 1:27 am

My gf's sister has a mk4 fiesta and the heaters have stoped working, fan doesnt even blow, I have checked all the fuses and they are all ok. Next thing to check was the motor but looked under the bonnet and couldnt see it so im guessing its behind the dash. Anyone know if the fan/motor is a dash out job? Also is there a relay for the heaters and which one/where is it located. I said id have a look 4 her when its a bit lighter but dont wanna spend ages on it.

Suggestions welcome please

Cheers

if he had a mk3 fiesta that would be helpful.

The mk4 motor is built into the heater box and is controlled by a heater resistor which is screwed on the side and has a mutliplug going into it. Very common for these to burn out over the years and cost around £25 to replace from fords.

sorry to confuse you fella but someone else said that the same relay powers the heater aswell as the reverse light, so i checked my reverse light and it go,s on then turns off while the gearbox is in reverse gear
