I guess only the 1.4 Mk4 brakes fit the 13's, have the same 240mm diameter but are vented.

I guess you only need the calipers and disc brakes.

Just a quick ask. Does mk5 escort 240mm vented discs and calipers be a straight swap for fiesta mk3?

most of you are clueless to this topic lol

biggest you can get behind 13" wheels are 240 discs, vented or not, all fiestas except the mk6 onwards and the mk5 zetec s had 240mm

next wheel size is 14" and biggest you can fit behind these is 260mm, can be found on fiesta mk5 zetec s and most mk6, also the escort rs2000 mk5/6
i have these myself behind my 14" Si wheels
as someone said 1.8 and 2.0 and 1.8td mondeos had 260mm but you need to do several changes to make them fit, like spacing and longer studs, also larger drilled hub bolts

next is 15" and heres the best brakins, performance brakes are available from companies like AP brake, Brembo etc, but 280mm is the max, you can make 300mm brakes fit bu its a very tight squeeze and you have to file some of the caliper away

280mm brakes are often found on sierra cosworth, but needs to be the 2wd versions and escort cosworth, and more recently the mondeo ST24 and ST200, but again all mondeo brakes need the same adjustments

hope this helps

get some 14 inchers and a mk5 escort rs 200 front callipers and discs, they will just about fit, howevere when u got for any sort of brake upgrade using bigger pistons and the like you will have to get a bigger servo and master cylinder

your clearly the brainbox... ive fitted 260mm from the RS2000 and not needed a bigger servo,
ive fitted the ST24 mondeo 280mm brakes and not needed a bigger servo...

the only instance ive seen/heard the standard servo struggling is when you fit a rear brake disc conversion on top of a big front brake upgrade, which is understandable as 4 big pistons is alot harder to move than 2 and two tiny cylinders :bonkers:

Your both wrong.
You would never need to change the servo. You'd need to change the master cylinder. Usefully when running 4 pots or rear discs.

Also. The cossie break comment, you need 2 wd discs with 4 wd calipers.
2 wd calipers are 4 pots and hard to fit.

Hope this helps.

how do you mean hard to fit the 4pot calipers, i've bought a set and test fitted them, and by the looks of it the hub caliper holes need drilling and tapping a thread in as the 4 pot caliper holes have no thread then with either 278 or 283mm vented discs they should fit just hope 15's can fit lol!

what?!

its the servo that amplifies the pressure, the master cylinder has little effect. leaving the same sevo and fitting 280's/300's and rear discs will leave your brake system rather pathetic, eveyone i know whos done a rear disc conversion has said the same thing and opted for the mondeo servo

I had 260s at the front and 240 solids at the rear with a standard servo and master cylider and the brakes were more than ample :)

aye because the pistons in them calipers front and rear are reletively small matt, but with 280s and the bigger escort or fiesta ST rear brakes it starts to struggle

The point i was getting at is why over brake your car? The 260/240 rig up on the RS was fine for 150bhp and stopped it well with no issues

And yes i do have a massive weiner, and your little hands make it look so much bigger too!
